Our data sets sometimes need to be private until a set publication date. We need to set up the embed prior to actually publishing our pages so that we can publish quickly (e.g. during a press conference) and know it will work.
During this test server time, a pop-up in the embed that warns us it is private, would be a good solution for reminding us to make the data set public at publication time.

Cook county has requested this as well...
Thanks Beth. This is a tricky one but we have got feedback from several customers on this one and we agree that this should be turned back on. Thanks for your feedback. The problem here is that a private dataset can be embedded in a public website and then the user gets an error if they don't have access.
We will have some messaging for this with some type of warning that the dataset is private and will not be viewable or usable to anyone that is not a dataset owner.
We plan on doing this in the next month.
Hi Cam,
has this been added yet? When I click "Embed" on a private set, I am not given the Social Data Player options.
Matt, Beth- This has not been added yet. It's still on the radar we just haven't carved the time out yet to do it.
This has been fixed!
