If you need to change your existing column metadata, have no fear! Dataset owners and users with permissions to edit the dataset can change column titles.
Accessing the Column Properties menu
When changing an existing column title in a dataset, simply move your mouse arrow to the column you wish to change. On the right side of the column, you will see a grouping of three lines indicating a menu. Click on it and a drop-down list will appear (box 1 in the above image). Select Edit Column Properties.
Then, the Column Properties panel will appear on the right side of the page (box 2 in the above image).

Use the Name field to edit the column name. You can also add a column description in the Description field. Additionally, you can select the Alignment of the cell contents. For columns that are the Number data type, you can modify the number formatting using several available fields for customization:
Once you have made your desired changes, click the Update button at the bottom of the panel to save.
In order to make other changes to the column, you’ll need to create a working copy.
Metadata updates available only when editing a working copy
Once you've created a working copy, you can access the Column Properties panel as before by clicking on the menu within the column whose metadata you'd like to access and clicking on Edit Column Properties.
There are a few more options available for editing in the working copy:
Data type: this can be modified to reflect the correct data type, chosen from a dropdown menu
