Economic Intelligence: Comparison Mode

Comparison mode allows users to quickly see how their key metrics are trending.

To toggle comparison mode on or off, simply use the checkbox below the date filter:

If the module is currently showing a year or more of data, then you can compare the current metric values to the same values computed over the prior period of the same length.

• e.g. if you are looking at all of 2020, the prior period will be all of 2019

• e.g. if you are looking at Jan 1, 2018 - Dec 31, 2020, the prior period will be Jan 1, 2016 - Dec 31, 2018

If the module is showing less than a year of data, then you will have the option to either look at the prior period, or compare the same period in the prior year.

• e.g. if your module is set to Oct 1, 2020 - Oct 31, 2020 selecting prior period will compare with August 31, 2020 - Sept 30, 2020 (31 days prior to Oct 1) and selecting this period, last year will compare with Oct 1, 2019 - Oct 31, 2019

With comparison mode on, you will notice badges on each metric tile that indicate both the direction the metric is trending and the % or discrete value difference between the selected period and your comparison period:

This badge will also appear in the Analysis view of the module and can be included in visualization exports:
