From a dataset's primer page, open the Actions menu and select Query data. You will be directed to the Exploration Canvas.
Select the Create View button in the upper right corner and give your filtered view a descriptive and meaningful name.
To add a filter, navigate to the Filters section within the Visual Query Editor and select a column to use as the basis for the filter.
Once a column has been identified, you'll have several operators to choose from based on the data type of that field:
- is
- is not
- starts with
- contains
- does not contain
- is blank
Using these different conditions, you can create a diverse set of filters. Filters are not case-sensitive.
Once you have filtered the dataset, you may want to publish the view. Select the Publish dataset button, identify the appropriate publishing audience, and fill out asset-level metadata as needed. Once published, these filtered views can be searched within the catalog by clicking on the "Filtered Views" category on the left hand panel.
