Open Performance Cloud Release Notes 11/13/18

Measures with Cumulative Math

Many performance programs rely on the counting of something – be it the number of potholes repaired or the number of people served – to determine program outcomes. While the Open Performance Cloud to date has permitted you to sum these widgets within a reporting period, we had not until now let you sum these widgets across multiple reporting periods. You can apply this feature across all calculation types except for Recent Value.

Here is an example of what you can now create with the Open Performance Cloud today:

I am a Transportation Program Manager and I want to count the number of cyclists crossing a specific bridge. This is important to me because my city built protected bike lanes and I expect to see an increase in cyclist use. My metric target is to see a total of 750K cyclists use this bridge by the end of this year, beginning January 1 of this year.

In the measure above, you can see that the number of cyclists crossing the bridge each month is summing from 1/1/2018.

In order to enable cumulative math, navigate to the Calculation tab in the edit modal and select the “Cumulative Math” checkbox on the right-hand side of the screen.

The date that appears by default under the checkbox is the same as the x-axis start date in the Display Options tab.
