How is the dashboard organized?
Insights at a glance
Each tile on your dashboard shows a summarized metric. Hover over the chart to see more information, or click into it to explore Analysis mode.
See the section What can I do from Analysis mode? to learn more about the data analysis capabilities available.
Organize your data
Your metric tiles are pre-organized into collections, which appear as tabs at the top of your dashboard. Click the + sign on the right-hand side to create your own, and then drag and drop metric tiles into it.
Customizing your collections:
Click Add a filter in the upper left-hand corner of a collection to filter all metric tiles in that collection.
When you Share a collection, your recipient will see it appear on their own dashboard. Any changes you make to the collection after it has been shared will not be reflected in the recipient’s version of that collection.
Feel free to modify or delete collections that you don't need, or simply hide them from your dashboard from within Settings. Deleting a collection does not delete the default metric tiles within it – those can still be found in All Metrics.
Explore your data
All Metrics is a library of all default metric tiles. It’s a great place to explore all of the metrics that are available to you. You can also think of it as a safety net: You can customize the rest of your dashboard however you like, but the original versions of each metric tile can always be found here.
My Views contains all your saved views, and views shared with you by others.
Date Filter & Comparison Mode
All metrics are controlled by the date filter in the upper left corner of the dashboard.
By toggling on a comparison period, you have the option to compare the current date range to the same period in a different year, the prior period, or a custom date range.
When comparison mode is turned on, you’ll see a box in the middle of each metric tile that tells you the percent change, with an arrow indicating the direction of change. Hover over it to see more details.
Manage your settings
The Settings page is your control center where you can take the following actions:
-
Hide a collection from appearing on your dashboard
-
Rename, share, or add filters to a collection
-
Share, edit, or delete saved views, subscriptions, and alert
What can I do in Analysis mode?
By clicking into any metric tile, you will be taken into Analysis mode, where you can dive deeper into your metrics.
There are many things you can do from within Analysis mode, including:
Add filters
You can find all filter options on the left-hand side of the screen.
-
Click Add a filter to apply a filter to the current view.
-
Some metrics also have geographical filters. Select regions on the mini-map (not pictured) to filter by those regions.
Explore different chart types
Above the title, you’ll find different Analysis tabs, including a drilldown-oriented Snapshot tab, a time-based Over Time tab, and a Details tab that contains the detailed records that make up the metric. Some metrics may also have a geospatial Map tab, or a Distribution tab to see different analyses of the selected metric.
Compare to another time period
By toggling on a comparison period, you have the option to compare the current date range to the same period in a different year, the prior period, or a custom date range. You can also choose to compare to multiple periods at the same time.
Pivot your data
In the lefthand pane, you can pivot your data in different ways. Use these dropdowns to change metrics, swap out the category that is displayed in a chart, or in some cases, group the data by a certain category.
Save a view
Click Save As in the upper right-hand corner of the Analysis page to save your currently selected filters, chart type, and other customizations. This saved view can now be found under the My Views tab.
Subscribe to email updates
Click Watch in the upper right-hand corner of the Analysis page to automatically subscribe to weekly email updates about the current view. Click More options to adjust the cadence or set an alert.
You can edit your subscriptions or unsubscribe from the Manage page.
Set an alert to email you when a condition is met
Click Watch in the upper right-hand corner of the Analysis page and then click More options to set an alert. When the conditions of your alert are met, you’ll receive an email and see a notification appear on the bell icon in the upper right-hand corner of your dashboard.
You can edit or delete your alerts from the Manage page.
Share your view
You can share your current view, including all applied filters, by clicking the Share button in the upper right-hand corner of the Analysis page. The recipient will receive an email with a link to view the chart in their own dashboard.
Export a JPEG version of your view, or download the underlying dataset
You can export a JPEG of a chart by clicking Export in the upper right-hand corner of the Analysis page. To download the dataset, navigate to the Details tab and click the Download button in the upper right-hand corner.
