This dashboard application is a configurable data analysis tool powered by Data & Insights, a Tyler Technologies data solution. Within the dashboard, you can monitor the metrics you care about, filter and drill down into data, share insights with colleagues, and much more.
How is the dashboard organized?
Insights at a glance
Each tile on your dashboard shows a summarized metric. Hover over the chart to see more information, or click into it to explore Analysis mode.
To learn more about the data analysis capabilities available, please see: What can I do from Analysis mode?
Organize your data
Your metric tiles are pre-organized into collections, which appear as tabs at the top of your dashboard. Here is an example of what the dashboard looks like from a Viewer's perspective:
Creating a Collection
To create your own collection, Click the Create button at the top or the + sign on the right-hand side.
Then drag and drop metric tiles into it.
Customizing Collections
To begin customizing collections, it is important to understand the difference between changes made in Edit Mode vs Personal Changes made outside of Edit Mode.
Changes in Edit Mode:
Users who are an Owner or Collaborator of a collection can enter Edit Mode to begin making changes. Entering Edit Mode allows you to add, remove, or reorganize collection content and updates the shared collection for everyone who can access it.
Outside of Edit Mode (Personal Changes):
Users can apply temporary filters, save personal views, and hide collections from appearing on your dashboard. These changes apply only to your personal view and will not impact what other users see.
**For more details on customizing collections, please see: How to Build + Edit Collections**
Date Filter & Comparison Mode
All metrics are controlled by the date filter in the upper left corner of the dashboard.
By toggling on a comparison period, you have the option to compare the current date range to the same period in a different year, the prior period, or a custom date range.
When comparison mode is turned on, you’ll see a box in the middle of each metric tile that tells you the percent change, with an arrow indicating the direction of change. Hover over it to see more details.
Sharing Collections
To manage your collection’s audience, click the Lock icon or the Collaborate button. This will open a window where you can share the collection, add specific users or roles, and change access levels for users.
**For more details on managing permissions, collection audience, and sharing collections, please see: Executive Insights: How to Set Up Collection Access**
Manage Settings
The Settings page is your control center where you can take the following actions:
Hide a collection from appearing on your dashboard
Rename, share, or add filters to a collection
Share, edit, or delete saved views, subscriptions, and alerts
What can I do in Analysis mode?

Some metrics also have geographical filters. Select regions on the mini-map (not pictured) to filter by those regions.
Explore Different Chart Types
Above the title, you’ll find different Analysis tabs, including a drill-down oriented Snapshot tab, a time-based Over Time tab, and a Details tab that contains the detailed records that make up the metric. Some metrics may also have a geospatial Map tab, or a Distribution tab to see different analyses of the selected metric.
Compare Time Periods
By toggling on a comparison period, you have the option to compare the current date range to the same period in a different year, the prior period, or a custom date range. You can also choose to compare to multiple periods at the same time.
Pivot Data
In the lefthand pane, you can pivot your data in different ways. Use the drop-downs to change metrics, swap out the category that is displayed in a chart, or in some cases, group the data by a certain category.
