Announcement: A New Generation Of Open Expenditures

As part of continually improving our products and finding new ways to improve the experience for our customers and also their constituents, we're excited to announce a big step forward for Socrata for Finance.

A New Generation of Open Expenditures

We've spoken with many of you and listened to your valuable feedback.

We're excited to present a new version of Open Expenditures that lets you really get into the transaction-level detail, including vendors, invoices and amounts of your ledgers and checkbooks. We think that analysts, auditors, small businesses, and citizens alike will really love the new Open Expenditures.

Users can see see who the government is doing business with, how much they’re spending, and even compare their per-vendor spending with other municipalities! For example, see our fictional City of Evergreen's page for Tyler Technologies.

A full demo of the new Open Checkbook can be found at

Given the big change, customers on the existing, pre-September 2015 version of Open Expenditures are not automatically switched over. Contact your Account Manager or Socrata Support to get transitioned!
