Export Formatted Tables in Perspectives Stories

Users can now export tables with all applied formatting, including groupings, aggregations, and totals, directly to Excel. This enhancement eliminates the need for manual reformatting post-export, saving users valuable time and reducing the risk of errors when sharing or analyzing data.

Customize Groupings and Aggregations in the Table

This feature allows users to customize their data by adjusting groupings and aggregations directly within the table. Users can quickly adjust how the data displays without needing to create new copies of views or Stories, making it more convenient to generate the insights you need on the fly.

Streamlined Metadata Management for Measures and Visualizations
We are excited to introduce a new metadata modal for managing metadata across measures and visualizations. This change replaces the previous edit_metadata page, providing a consistent experience and ensuring that permissions set in metadata templates are enforced. The new workflow keeps users within the context of their asset, allowing for quicker and more efficient metadata updates.

Modify and Validate Parameters in Exploration Canvas
Parameters allow users to dynamically manipulate the underlying query of a view in Exploration Canvas. We have introduced a new way for users to modify parameter values directly in Exploration Canvas before making them generally available. Users can now input and validate parameter values on the fly without altering default settings, making it easier to refine your queries and views.

New Data Catalog Page
Our latest update brings a fresh look and feel to the Data Catalog Page. The new design offers a modern and sleek interface that makes browsing through data a more visually appealing experience. But it's not just about looks – we've also optimized the page to load faster, ensuring a smoother and more efficient user experience. We are still making a few tweaks to the new Data Catalog page, so expect to see this update in November, shortly after the October release.

Deprecations and Removals

Grid View Removal
This is a reminder that Grid View, one of our legacy asset surfaces, will be removed from all data platforms in January 2025. In the coming months, users will continue to see more datasets and filtered views open in Exploration Canvas.

As part of this removal, legacy visualizations and forms will also be removed from data platforms. For a list of your organization’s assets impacted by this removal, please reach out to your dedicated Client Success Manager or our support team at datainsights-support@tylertech.com
